New shoes and new places

To be honest so much happened today, but my head really wasn’t in Moldova.
So, I’m going to try to collect my thoughts in the captions for today’s pictures (I tried to take a lot, less thinking just snapping)

Moldovans do food right. Every meal is the real deal. There is always fresh fruit, cheese, and bread. The fruit and vegetables also just taste better.

Five pairs of Moldovan made shoes? 34 dollars. Matching with your new host family? Priceless. SO today my host sisters and mom took us to a Moldovan shoe factor where they make these very fun shoes that are similar to TOMS. They are so comfortable and cotton and patterned and fabulous. Best part is they cost 497 Lei… less that $27 on four pairs. Shoe shopping has definitely been a success in Moldova.

Then we went to Central Market, which was insane. I was warned to watch my bag and keep my whereabouts as to not get lost, or lose anything in the crowds. But, they basically sell everything and anything here, in this outdoor but covered market.

I really have a billion more pictures to post, but the internet doesn't seem to want to cooperate tonight, perhaps tomorrow. Noapte Buna

  1. Hi Maddie, where did you purchase the multi-colored shoes?
My wife is Moldovan and we live in the states. Our dogs just recently chewed up the pair of shoes you have pictured! She is upset and I would love to be able to order another pair for her :)
    Thank you,
    Steve
